Buzzinga includes two simpler ways to play without its built-in real-time buzzers. No players need to join the room or use their phones in either mode.
Open the Select play mode window
- Find the board you want to use on the Buzzinga homepage.
- Select Play.
- In the Select play mode window, choose Without Buzzers.
- Select Play under Classic or Practice.
The selected mode opens in a new browser tab.
Classic mode
Choose Classic when you are hosting a live game but do not want participants to use Buzzinga’s built-in buzzers or join from their devices.
You can use any method you prefer to decide who answers, such as calling on participants or using separate buzzers that are not connected to Buzzinga. Add the teams you want to track, then manage their scores manually as the game progresses.
If you want Buzzinga to recognize button presses from compatible keyboard-based buzzers, use a With Buzzers mode instead and see Using physical buzzers.
Practice mode
Choose Practice when one person wants to work through a board independently. Select clues, reveal the correct responses, and mark each response correct or incorrect to keep score.
Practice progress is saved in the browser so you can leave and continue later on the same device and browser.
Features available with buzzers
Classic and Practice are simplified standalone modes. If you need real-time player buzz-ins, the host controller, or background music, return to Select play mode and choose With Buzzers.
